I will kill 50 people, men or women, at Seoul Station

A man in his 30s who posted an online threat to commit a stabbing has been arrested by the police.

On May 26, according to the legal community, the Seoul Northern District Court held a pre-trial detention hearing for the suspect who is accused of making threats and obstructing the execution of public duties.

The court issued an arrest warrant and cited that the suspect may be a flight risk.

The suspect is accused of posting a message on the online community DC Inside Gallery on May 22, stating, “I will go on a mass stabbing spree at Seoul Station on May 24. I will kill 50 random men and women.”

After analyzing a search and seizure warrant for DC Inside on May 24, the police arrested the suspect at his home in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, at around 7:20 PM on the same day.

According to JTBC, it was confirmed that the suspect had committed multiple crimes in the past, with more than 10 prior convictions.

However, he reportedly has no previous convictions for serious crimes such as murder.

During the police investigation, the suspect admitted to the charges but did not provide any specific motive for his actions.
