Shocking allegations have emerged surrounding producer Koala, who is linked to an incident involving singer Jessi and an assault on a fan.
On Thursday, YouTuber Sim Sim Puring shared a post on their channel’s community page titled “Revealing the Murder Conviction of Heo Jae Won (Koala).”
The YouTuber remarked, “Today, our 88-born hip-hop warrior Heo Jae Won (Koala) seems to be in silent mode with his Instagram closed, perhaps thinking, Jessi posted another apology on Instagram, so things will quiet down soon, right? Therefore, I will reveal Heo Jae Won’s murder conviction.”
He added, “Although it’s an old matter, I still wish to express my condolences for the deceased.”
The YouTuber claimed that Koala brutally assaulted a 17-year-old Korean male student with a blunt object on December 30, 2005, in Hawaiian Gardens, California.
He stated, “The victim fought for his life and tragically died on January 2, 2006. Heo Jae Won was subsequently deported to Korea, where he formed Bobblehead Music with his Korean-American friends (Johnjohn, Jae Ro, Cuz D) and has continued to perform under the name KOALA.”
The YouTuber continued, “On September 29, 2024, in the early hours in Apgujeong-dong, he and an associate, a member of the Wah Ching criminal organization, jointly assaulted a Korean minor. I hope everyone understands that this was an extremely dangerous situation where the minor could have been brutally harmed.”
Calls for Removal of Koala’s Videos on YouTube
The YouTuber also shared foreign news reports about the 2006 murder at Hawaiian Gardens and surveillance camera footage from September’s alleged assault on a minor.
Addressing Dingo’s account, the Youtuber pleaded, “I respectfully and urgently request that MAKEUS Co., Ltd. remove the videos of murderer Heo Jae Won from the DF channel.”
At this point, these remain claims made by the YouTuber, and no legal documents or local news reports are provided to substantiate their allegations.
Following the controversy, Dingo made a live video of Koala on their YouTube channel, Dingo Freestyle.
Meanwhile, Jessi is facing public outrage for failing to intervene when a minor fan, who had requested a photo with her, was assaulted on the night of September 29.
Koala, who was present with Jessi at the time, is suspected of participating in the assault by headbutting the victim and making threats.
As the incident gained public attention, Jessi posted another apology on her Instagram on Wednesday, stating, “I sincerely apologize to the victim and their family who have been affected by this incident.” This comes 11 days after Jessi’s initial apology.
