Meta’s New York Cafeteria Stuns with Gourmet Offerings
Meta, the tech giant behind Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, is making waves with its high-end employee cafeteria at its New York office.
A recent video from the popular YouTube channel NYeat showcased the impressive dining options at one of the world’s leading tech companies.
Meta, valued at $1.5 trillion, has three offices in New York City, but the location featured in the video is reportedly the oldest and smallest of the trio.
In a trend that’s become increasingly common among Silicon Valley powerhouses, Meta provides its employees with free meals three times a day, along with complimentary coffee, soft drinks, and even ice cream.
The cafeteria’s menu is a global food lover’s dream. The variety is nothing short of impressive, from sushi and dim sum to Western classics, artisanal burgers, taco bars, and expansive buffets.
With such an abundance of delicious options, it’s no wonder the company has given rise to the phenomenon of the “Facebook 15″—a tongue-in-cheek reference to the 15 pounds new hires often gain from all the tempting food.
While the YouTuber noted that some dishes suffered from the typical food court problem of being slightly cold or not as fresh, the overall quality of the offerings left a strong impression. The video also highlighted the youthful energy of the staff and their exceptional friendliness.
The video quickly went viral, with viewers commenting, “I’d go to work just for the food!” and “My desire to join Meta just skyrocketed.” Some even joked, “If you’re going to be a corporate slave, you might as well do it at a company with food like this!”
