An inexperienced driver recently caused significant damage to an automatic car wash after moving their vehicle during the cleaning process.
The incident, which occurred at a car wash in Anhui Province, China, was reported by the Chinese media outlet Sohu.com.
Surveillance footage shows a black sedan entering the automatic car wash bay, where the machine started its cleaning cycle. The system uses large brushes that move back and forth to clean the vehicle’s exterior.
However, this was the driver’s first experience with an automatic car wash. Unaccustomed to the process, the driver moved the vehicle back and forth, shifting between forward and reverse.
Eventually, the car became stuck between the rotating brushes. Realizing something was wrong, the driver attempted to reverse the vehicle to free it.
Despite repeated attempts, the car became further entangled in the equipment. Ultimately, the entire car wash structure collapsed, severely damaging the machine.
As the car wash machine fell, it struck the vehicle’s rear.
Fortunately, the driver escaped without serious injury, but reports indicate they will be held financially responsible for the extensive damage to the car wash equipment.
Online commenters quickly expressed their frustration, urging others to follow instructions carefully. They emphasized the importance of reading warning signs and pointed out the driver’s inexperience.
