Taiwanese actor Darren Wang, known for his roles in popular films such as Our Times and the TV drama Fall in Love at First Kiss, has been referred to prosecutors on charges of attempted murder.
On Tuesday, Taiwanese news outlets, including ET Today and TVBS, reported that Darren Wang was recently investigated by police and transferred to prosecutors on charges of attempted murder.
According to reports, the incident occurred last April when Darren Wang became frustrated with the condition of a pickup vehicle at a Taiwanese airport. This led to a confrontation with the driver and other individuals involved. Darren Wang allegedly enlisted the help of his associates to assault the driver and staff from the vehicle company.

In a disturbing turn of events, Darren Wang and his associates are said to have filmed the violent attack.
The severity of the victims’ injuries led to attempted murder charges against Darren Wang, who was later arrested at his home.
This incident follows Darren Wang’s recent arrest on February 18, when he was accused of obtaining forged medical documents claiming heart disease in an attempt to evade mandatory military service.

Taiwan’s military service law mandates that all males between 18 and 26 serve for one year. Attempting to evade service by submitting false documentation or concealing information can result in a prison sentence of up to five years.
After posting bail of 150,000 New Taiwan Dollars (approximately $4,570), Darren Wang was scheduled to begin his alternative military service on March 13 at a training facility in Taichung.
Born in 1991, Darren Wang rose to fame after his 2008 debut in the Taiwanese drama Mysterious Incredible Terminator. His breakout role in Our Times solidified his status as Taiwan’s beloved romantic lead.
