Former South Korean lawmaker Chang Je Won, a prominent member of the People Power Party (PPP), was found dead on Monday night at a studio apartment in Seoul.
Authorities have indicated that there are no signs of foul play at this time and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Chang was discovered in a studio located in the Gangdong district of Seoul, around 11:40 PM (KST), according to police.
A three-term member of the National Assembly, Chang was widely known as a key figure within the pro-Yoon Suk Yeol faction of the People Power Party. He had significant political influence and was considered one of Yoon’s close allies.
Recently, Chang had been under police investigation for allegations of sexual assault against a former secretary, an incident that reportedly occurred ten years ago.
