How to Cherish Your Partner After Intimacy

Sarah Lim Views

After making love, there are certain things you should do like hugging your partner tightly and having a light conversation.

Is there anything more romantic than listening to your partner’s heartbeat while your skins are touching?

However, men who become comfortable with their partners often overlook these actions. They either fall asleep immediately due to exhaustion or act as if it’s a hassle.

Such behavior from a man who quickly cools down despite sharing magical moments earlier could upset his partner or make them feel neglected. Here are five actions to avoid after being intimate.

1. Smoking Alone Without Saying Anything

Some people light a cigarette immediately after intercourse, thinking it looks cool as they’ve seen in movies. However, reality is different from the movies. Smoking post-intimacy is not sensual at all.

Cigarette ashes fly around and the smell of smoke sticks to your body, giving you the vibe of an old sailor.

To emphasize, you are not Tom Hardy. Instead of lighting a cigarette, try expressing your sincerity with a simple “I love you.” This single phrase can make your significant other feel more loved and happy.

2. Giving Negative Feedback After Sex

Immediately after intercourse, saying something like “Why didn’t you move at all?” can be like driving a nail into your partner’s heart. They also need time to savor the lingering feelings after sex.

Words that disrupt the love between two people can easily ruin the mood.

There’s plenty of time to discuss the intimacy. Sometimes, timing can make each other feel more loved.

3. Comparing Your Experience with Past Partners

Intimacy is not just a physical act. It’s also a mental connection where both of your emotions mingle. That’s why it’s so important to focus on your partner during those moments.

Evaluations of intimacy should focus more on the positive than the negative.

Complimenting your partner with phrases like “You’re so beautiful” or “That was amazing,” followed by a kiss, can create a more positive atmosphere between the two of you. It’s also nice to hug or stroke their hair.

4. Taking a Shower Right Away

Scientists claim that it’s normal for a partner’s attractiveness to temporarily decrease after sex. In simple terms, the body is reorganizing itself and returning to its normal state.

However, this doesn’t justify playing a game or taking a shower right after intercourse.

After doing the deed, it’s more important to consider your partner’s feelings than to check on your own body. It’s not too late to wash up after spending some time reminiscing about the good memories and having a little chat.
