Mother of Professional Soccer Player Destroys Phone in Privacy Scandal

Emily Kim Views

Testimony has emerged that the mother of soccer player Hwang Ui Jo burned a cell phone, which is the key evidence in an illegal filming allegation.

On June 6, JTBC Newsroom reported on the police statement of Hwang’s elder brother.

According to the report, his brother explained that due to concerns about privacy invasion, he refused to submit Hwang Ui Jo’s cell phone because his wife had used the device.

When asked what happened to the cell phone, Hwang’s elder brother was reported to have said, “My mother burned it along with Ui Jo’s uniform.”

The cell phone in question is known to be the device used to film the victims.

The case was transferred to the prosecution in February, but a decision has not yet been made on whether to indict Hwang’s elder brother on charges of illegal filming.

The victims are appealing for severe punishment due to the delayed investigation.

Hwang Ui Jo is currently playing in the Turkish League.

In a recent match, he earned a penalty kick, saving his team from the brink of defeat.
