BLACKPINK’s Rosé and pop star Bruno Mars have teamed up for the track “APT. ” It debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S.
Rosé took to her Instagram account on Tuesday to share her excitement, stating, “What is happening in the world?” She added, “Thank you so much. This is for the BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom). This is a dream come true for me.”
Rosé included a screenshot of the Billboard chart showcasing “APT.” at No. 8 and tagged Bruno Mars’ account in her post.
This achievement marks Rosé’s second entry on the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist. With “APT.,” she has set a new record for the highest chart position among K-pop female artists on the Hot 100.
Previously, the highest position reached by a K-pop female artist was No. 13, a record set by BLACKPINK in its 2020 collaboration with Selena Gomez on “Ice Cream.”
Focusing solely on K-pop solo female artists, Rosé’s “On The Ground,” released in 2021, and BLACKPINK member Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR,” released this year, peaked at No. 70.
Meanwhile, “APT.” is a pre-release track from Rosé’s upcoming debut solo album, ROSIE, which will be released in December.
