Actress Suzy’s heartfelt generosity has recently come to light, earning her widespread admiration.
On November 3, a comment appeared on Suzy’s Instagram profile featuring a photo of a baby battling an illness, posted by an individual who identified herself as the child’s mother.
“Hello, Suzy! I’m the mother of Bae Ri Hee, the patient. Thanks to your help with our baby’s medical expenses, she is receiving proper treatment. I am so grateful. I will never forget this kindness and will always live with gratitude toward you.”
Bae Ri Hee was born prematurely, weighing less than 2.2 pounds. She was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, brain injuries, and visual impairment, and has been receiving treatment in and out of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Reports indicate that Suzy donated approximately 20 million won (around $14,250) to cover some of Bae Ri Hee’s medical bills.
The mother went on to say, “Our first child’s name is also Bae Suzy. We will raise our twins to be as kind-hearted and loving as you, Suzy. I wish you health and happiness always.”
Suzy has long been known for her charitable contributions. In 2015, she became a member of the Honor’s Club, a prestigious group of high-value donors who have contributed more than 100 million won (roughly $71,244) through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association. By November 2022, her total charitable donations had exceeded 500 million won (around $356,220). Suzy continues to support a variety of causes, including funding medical treatment for children with rare diseases, childhood cancers, and leukemia, through the Life Sharing Foundation each year.
In 2021, it was revealed that Suzy quietly donated funds to cover the heart surgery of a premature infant. This latest donation was also made discreetly, without the knowledge of her agency.
