Actor Song Joong Ki and his wife, Katy Louise Saunders, have welcomed their second child, a daughter, in Rome, Italy — Katy’s hometown.
Song Joong Ki shared the joyful news with fans on Wednesday through his official fan cafe. This announcement follows the couple’s pregnancy reveal in July through their agency, High Zium Studio.
Song Joong Ki wrote in his heartfelt message, “I’m currently in Rome, and it’s been just over a year since I met my first child here. I’m incredibly grateful to now welcome another beautiful baby. Our lovely princess has arrived, healthy and strong.”
He reassured fans that both mother and baby were doing well and resting comfortably.
Song Joong Ki also expressed his gratitude to his fans, saying, “I’m certain that these blessings continue to come my way because of the precious support and unwavering trust from everyone who loves me, especially our Kiaile (fans). I’m truly thankful from the bottom of my heart.”
Song Joong Ki, one year younger than his wife Katy, reportedly met the British actress through mutual friends in 2021, and they began dating shortly after.
In December 2022, Song Joong Ki publicly confirmed their relationship and shared the news of their marriage, followed by their pregnancy announcement.
At the time, Song Joong Ki shared in his fan cafe, “We’ve worked hard to keep our promises to each other, and we’re blessed with a precious new life. Today, we’re registering our marriage, beginning our journey as a couple founded on deep trust and love.”
The couple made headlines in May 2023 when they appeared together at the Cannes Film Festival, with Katy visibly pregnant. They welcomed their first child, a son, in June 2023.
Song Joong Ki is currently filming the JTBC drama My Youth, which will air next year. In the series, he plays a novelist and florist.
