K-pop icon G-Dragon is teaming up with comedian Jung Hyung Don for a new variety show directed by the acclaimed producer Kim Tae Ho, best known for his work on the legendary Infinite Challenge.
According to a report by OSEN on Wednesday, Jung Hyung Don will join the cast of Kim Tae Ho’s latest project, tentatively titled GD and Friends (working title).
Kim Tae Ho recently wrapped up the first round of filming with G-Dragon, sharing with OSEN, “Given the high anticipation, we decided to bring Jung Hyung Don and G-Dragon together.”
Though the title is still in flux, names like GD and Friends, and Good Day are reportedly being considered.
A 12-Year Reunion Since Infinite Challenge
The program will primarily spotlight G-Dragon, with appearances from his close celebrity friends. Along with Jung Hyung Don, comedian Jo Se Ho has also confirmed his participation.
This marks a long-awaited reunion between G-Dragon and Kim Tae Ho, who previously collaborated during the peak years of Infinite Challenge, the hugely popular South Korean variety show. Fans are particularly excited to see the dynamic between G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don once again.
The duo first captured the public’s heart during the 2013 Infinite Challenge Music Festival, where their remarkable chemistry as Hyung Yong Don Jyong was a standout moment.
Recently, G-Dragon fueled fan speculation by hinting at a meetup with Jung Hyung Don on his Instagram. Many wonder if this post was a teaser for Kim Tae Ho’s upcoming show.
A decade later, G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don continue to consider each other favorites. Fans are eager to see if they can recreate their unique chemistry and help drive the new program’s success.
Filming is set to continue through January 2025, with a target release in 2025.
As rumors swirl that the show could air on MBC, the network has confirmed they are positively reviewing the project. If the launch on MBC is confirmed, it would mark Kim Tae Ho’s return to his former network after a three-year hiatus.
