Dating rumors surrounding ENHYPEN’s Jungwon and aespa’s Winter were sparked by a post claiming the two were spotted together on a date. In response, Jungwon addressed the speculation directly.
On Thursday, Jungwon hosted a live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse, where he read through fans’ comments and came across questions like, “Are you dating?” and “Do you smoke?” While many idols might ignore such inquiries, Jungwon confidently responded, “I’m not dating. Some people are asking if I smoke, but I don’t smoke either.” He then added, “I don’t know what those who spread these rumors plan to do, but I’m neither dating nor smoking. It’s ridiculous,” making it clear that the rumors were false.
Earlier, an eyewitness account had surfaced on an online community, claiming that Jungwon and Winter were seen together on a date in Cheongdam-dong, a neighborhood in Seoul.
Agencies Warn of Legal Action
The post that triggered the rumors included a comment, “With many shared schedules toward the end of the year, it would make sense. Winter took a taxi first, and then Yang Jungwon followed,” along with a secretly taken photo. However, the post has since been deleted.
Both agencies have denied the rumors, calling them false, and have warned they will take legal action.
aespa’s agency, SM Entertainment, said, “The dating rumors are baseless,” and further explained, “The individual who spread the photos attempted to contact a media outlet for financial gain. When the outlet refused to help, they maliciously circulated the rumors. We will pursue legal action against this.”
ENHYPEN’s agency, Belift Lab, also denied the rumors, stating, “These dating rumors are untrue. Belift Lab will take a strong stance against anyone who invades our artists’ privacy and spreads malicious rumors.”
