Netflix has just dropped the first stills from its upcoming drama Genie, Make a Wish, starring Kim Woo Bin and Suzy, and confirmed its release date.

On Tuesday, Netflix unveiled the first images from Genie, Make a Wish, a romantic comedy about Genie, a mystical lamp spirit who returns to the human world after a thousand-year absence, and Kayoung, an emotionally detached woman living by her grandmother’s strict rules and routines. Their worlds collide when Genie grants Kayoung three wishes, leading to a life-or-death romance full of twists and surprises. Kim Woo Bin stars as Genie, while Suzy plays Kayoung.

The reunion of Kim Woo Bin and Suzy—who last worked together on Uncontrollably Fond seven years ago—has generated great excitement. The series is also penned by Kim Eun Sook, the acclaimed writer behind Netflix’s hit The Glory, which has only raised expectations for Genie, Make a Wish.

The supporting cast includes Ahn Eun Jin as the mysterious Mi Joo and Noh Sang Hyun, a rising star in the industry, who will play Suhyun, a wealthy building owner with a stunning appearance and questionable wealth, becoming Genie’s main antagonist.

Ko Kyo Phil joins the ensemble as Saeed, Genie’s loyal companion, who takes the form of a black jaguar. Lee Zoo Young, known for stealing scenes in every role she’s played, completes the main cast as Minji, Kayoung’s only friend.

The newly released stills showcase the undeniable chemistry between Kim Woo Bin and Suzy, both dressed in elegant white outfits. One particularly intriguing image shows Kim Woo Bin sporting long hair and a mysterious expression, adding to the intrigue surrounding the series.

The official release date is set for the fourth quarter of this year, and with its captivating characters and unique storyline, Genie, Make a Wish is expected to become a fan favorite quickly.

In addition to Genie, Make a Wish, Netflix’s this year slate includes 15 other series, 7 films, and a wide array of seasonal variety shows, including 5 new daily programs.
