Kim Sae Ron’s Close Friends, Lee Su Hyun and Kim Bo Ra, Honor Her at Private Funeral

Following the sudden passing of actress Kim Sae Ron, her close friends, AKMU’s Lee Su Hyun and actress Kim Bo Ra, paid their respects at the funeral.

On Monday, Kim Sae Ron’s wake was quietly held at Seoul Asan Medical Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The family requested privacy during this time and did not wish for media coverage of the mourners.

Fellow actors Won Bin, Han So Hee, and Kim Bo Ra visited the wake, as they shared a close bond with Kim Sae Ron. Notably, AKMU’s Lee Su Hyun and her older brother Lee Chan Hyuk also visited to say their final goodbyes to the late actress.

Lee Su Hyun and Kim Sae Ron became close friends while working together at YG Entertainment and remained best friends for many years. The two were often seen together on television, and in 2021, they appeared on the popular variety show Long Live Independence, where they publicly shared their strong connection.

During the show, Lee Su Hyun revealed, “We’ve been close for about four to five years. I often meet Kim Sae Ron and Kim Bo Ra without making plans,” adding, “We were so close that we even shared home passwords in a group chat.”

Lee Su Hyun also shared a light-hearted moment, saying, “When we hang out at my place, Kim Bo Ra handles the cleaning and recycling, Kim Sae Ron cooks, and I just relax like a carefree grasshopper,” highlighting the close bond between the three.

The trio often shared photos together on social media, reflecting their unwavering friendship. In 2018, Kim Sae Ron nominated Lee Su Hyun for the Ice Bucket Challenge, encouraging her to participate. Lee Su Hyun also posted a video of a trip to Japan with Kim Bo Ra on her personal YouTube channel, further showcasing their special connection.

While Lee Su Hyun did not post a public message of condolence on social media, her immediate presence at the funeral spoke volumes about her grief.

Online, fans expressed their condolences, commenting, “Despite her struggles, one can’t help but wonder how lonely she must have felt,” and “It’s heartbreaking to imagine Lee Su Hyun’s pain, losing a friend she was so close to, someone she trusted enough to share her home passwords with.”

Meanwhile, the late Kim Sae Ron was found deceased at her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on Sunday.

Authorities have ruled out signs of foul play and are investigating the possibility of suicide, as there were no external signs of intrusion. No suicide note was discovered at the scene.

Her wake is being held at Seoul Asan Medical Center, and the funeral is scheduled for 6:20 AM (KST) this Wednesday.
