The late actress Kim Sae Ron’s funeral took place on Wednesday morning. In accordance with the family’s wishes, a private ceremony was held at Seoul Asan Hospital’s funeral hall in the Songpa District, Seoul.

Numerous colleagues from the entertainment industry, including actress Kim Bo Ra, AB6IX’s Park Woo Jin, and actor-singer Kwon Hyun Bin, visited during the service to pay their respects to Kim Sae Ron.

As the casket was placed into the hearse, family members and friends were visibly emotional. Kim Sae Ron’s final resting place is at the Unification Memorial Park in Paju.

Kim Sae Ron, who was born in 2000, was found in cardiac arrest at her home in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, on Sunday morning. She was quickly rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away at the age of 25.

Kim Sae Ron debuted in the entertainment world at just one year old, appearing as the cover model for the children’s magazine MOM & Enfant. Her breakthrough came when she was invited to the Cannes Film Festival for her role in the South Korean-French co-production A Brand New Life, directed by Lee Chang Dong. This made her the youngest Korean actress ever to walk the prestigious red carpet at Cannes.

She gained further fame for her role as Somi in the 2010 film The Man from Nowhere, which helped establish her as a rising star in the entertainment industry, leading to a series of notable performances throughout her career.

However, in May 2022, Kim Sae Ron’s career was put on hold following a drunk driving incident. She crashed into a transformer and several objects while driving under the influence in the Cheongdam-dong area of Seoul.

As a result of the incident, much of her footage in the Netflix original series Bloodhounds was edited out, and she was removed from the SBS drama Trolley. KBS also suspended her television appearances.

In April of the following year, she attempted a comeback through the play Dongchimi, but after facing significant public backlash, she voluntarily stepped down.

Kim Sae Ron completed filming for the movie Guitar Man in 2022, which is scheduled for release in May.
