The comedy classic White Chicks, which became a cult favorite in the early 2000s with its outlandish premise and hilarious humor, is gearing up for a sequel.

During an interview with Good Morning America at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards on Saturday, “Every single day, [they asked] ‘When are you doing the sequel?'” Marlon Wayans said. “They love that movie. You know, I think it’s time. So, you know, let’s get ‘Scary Movie 6’ done, and then we’re gonna go bring out the ‘White Chicks 2.'”

Wayans starred in White Chicks alongside his brother, Shawn Wayans. The film follows FBI agents Kevin (Shawn Wayans) and Marcus (Marlon Wayans), who go undercover and disguise themselves as two wealthy, high-society sisters after a botched operation. The movie became an instant hit thanks to its impressive makeup effects, over-the-top humor, and unforgettable soundtrack, which helped it earn a loyal following.

One of the most iconic moments from the film is Terry Crews’ character, Latrell, singing passionately to Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles,” a memorable scene that has since become a widely shared meme.

Rumors of a White Chicks sequel have been swirling for years. In 2019, Terry Crews stirred excitement by revealing on a TV show that he was getting in shape for the sequel, further fueling fans’ anticipation. However, despite the buzz, there has been no official confirmation of the sequel. Wayans’ recent statement has given fans renewed hope that the project is finally coming to life.

Now, all eyes are on what wild, hilarious events the sequel will bring and whether the original cast will return for another round of laughs.
