On Thursday, a Taiwanese social media account dedicated to Korean entertainment news conducted a poll about Kim Soo Hyun’s involvement in the MBC show Good Day.
The post’s author suggested that Kim Soo Hyun’s involvement could drastically change the show’s direction, raising questions about whether Kim Soo Hyun might struggle to return to TV. The author also pondered if the popular 88-line group collaboration could come to an end. Followers were encouraged to weigh in with their opinions on the matter.
Poll options included: “G-Dragon was harmed,” “Support for Kim Soo Hyun’s departure,” “Support for Kim Soo Hyun’s retirement from the entertainment industry,” and “I will wait for Kim Soo Hyun.” Fans eagerly cast their votes.
The poll gained extra attention when G-Dragon was seen clicking like on it. A fan who noticed this quickly took a screenshot and posted it online.
It seemed that G-Dragon realized the public’s reaction, quickly removing his like from the post.
Kim Soo Hyun’s involvement in the controversy stems from allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a minor. The YouTube channel Garoseoro Research Institute claimed that Kim Soo Hyun had been in a relationship with actress Kim Sae Ron from 2015 to 2021, lasting about six years.
Kim Soo Hyun’s representatives have strongly denied the allegations, labeling them “completely false.” However, after new photos showed Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron in physical contact, his team opted to stay silent, stating they would release an official statement the following week.
Despite the ongoing controversy, Kim Soo Hyun recorded Good Day on Thursday. In the meantime, online forums and viewer boards have been flooded with posts demanding his removal from the show.
Good Day is a music project where G-Dragon collaborates with various celebrities to create the song of the year. Kim Soo Hyun appeared on the show, joining G-Dragon, Im Si Wan, Hwang Kwang Hee, and Jung Hae In to form the popular 88-line group.
