The family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron has clarified that they were completely unaware of rumors regarding her alleged marriage.
On Thursday, the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (also known as Gaseyeon) reported that Lee Jin Ho had posted a misleading video titled “The Hidden Truth the Family is Hiding” and later met with Kim Sae Ron’s family.
According to Gaseyeon, the family stated, “We never heard anything about Sae Ron getting married, and we had no knowledge of it. We also don’t understand why the manager would mention the abortion to Lee Jin Ho.”
Gaseyeon further reported that the family was shocked by claims that no one paid for Kim Sae Ron’s medical expenses, with her manager allegedly covering a 20,000,000 won (about $13,700) bill. The family, reportedly in tears, demanded evidence of this claim, saying, “How could anyone further hurt parents who have already lost their child?”
Earlier, Lee Jin Ho posted a video on his YouTube channel titled “Shocking Exclusive! The Hidden Truth the Family is Hiding About Kim Sae Ron.” In the video, he presented a recording, which he claimed was from a person believed to be Kim Sae Ron, along with a company representative. According to the transcript, the woman, allegedly Kim Sae Ron, stated that she was coerced into marriage in the U.S. due to pregnancy threats and had undergone an abortion.
In a follow-up report, Gaseyeon claimed that when they met Kim Sae Ron’s mother, she appeared emaciated and distressed. “She cried out, asking why her daughter had to be treated this way,” they reported. The family also revealed that they had planned an emergency press conference that afternoon, but Kim Sae Ron’s mother said, “This can’t go on. Do I have to die for Lee Jin Ho and Kim Soo Hyun to stop tormenting us?”
Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron’s family has claimed that she had been in a relationship with actor Kim Soo Hyun since she was a minor.
In response to the controversy, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has denied these allegations, stating that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were in a relationship from the summer of 2019, after she turned 18, until the fall of 2020. They strongly refuted claims that Kim Soo Hyun had been romantically involved with Sae Ron while she was still underage.
