The family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron has firmly refuted YouTuber Lee Jin Ho’s allegation that she was seen on a street date with another man while dating actor Kim Soo Hyun.
On April 10, Sports Kyunghyang reported that the bereaved family responded to Lee Jin Ho’s claim that Kim Sae Ron had gone on a street date with a man around 1:00 a.m. on May 27, 2019.
According to the report, the family stated that Kim was in contact with her mother and had confirmed she was staying at a female friend’s house. They added that records verifying her location remain available through the smartphone camera app she used then.
The family further noted that Kim, who was under YG Entertainment at the time, was filming Season 4 of the web drama Love Playlist, which was released between June and July that year. This made it unlikely for her to be publicly dating at that time.

On April 9, Lee Jin Ho posted a video on his YouTube channel claiming that around 12:00 a.m. on May 27, 2019, Kim Sae Ron was spotted showing physical affection with a man believed to be her boyfriend between Seoul’s Nonhyeon and Eonju Stations. He also shared what he said was video evidence.
The video, which appeared to show a couple walking and kissing on the street, was of low quality, making it difficult to clearly identify the individuals as Kim Sae Ron.
Lee Jin Ho admitted, “Kim Sae Ron’s face is not clearly shown. However, this video was taken by one of her closest acquaintances at the time, who was shocked to witness her engaging in public displays of affection. The video’s metadata confirms the timestamp as May 27, 2019.” He added, “This supports the claim that both Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron had different romantic partners around the same time.”
Meanwhile, on March 17, Kim Sae Ron’s family filed a defamation lawsuit against Lee Jin Ho under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
On March 27, the family also filed an additional complaint accusing him of violating the Anti-Stalking Act, claiming that he had been exposing their private lives.
The Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul took over the case, accepted the family’s request for a restraining order, and submitted a petition for provisional measures to the court. The court has reportedly approved the request and issued a temporary order against Lee Jin Ho.
