A large-scale painting gifted by South Korean webtoon artist Kian84 to BTS member Jin has drawn significant attention from netizens. On Tuesday, Jin shared the artwork on his social media account, writing, “Thank you, President Kian84, for the gift.”

Large enough to cover an entire wall, the massive painting depicts a naked man and woman embracing each other, painted entirely in purple, symbolizing BTS.
The piece is a reimagined version of “The Last Couple,” which Kian84 originally showcased at his second solo exhibition, “KianDo,” in March. Jin received a cubic art rendition of the original painting.
Last June, Kian84 explained the meaning behind the piece in a video on his YouTube channel. He described it as part of his “Companion Human” series, in which a young man and woman are shown wearing medical cones, similar to those worn by neutered pets.
Kian84 said, “When I look at young people these days, it feels as though they’ve been neutered—many don’t get married or have children.” He continued, “I don’t mean that as a criticism. I just wanted to express how we live in an unusual era where dating and marriage are being avoided, which inspired the ‘Companion Human’ series.”
Regarding “The Last Couple,” he elaborated, “Our ancestors continued the human race by passing down strong genes, but with this couple, that lineage ends.” He explained that the piece represents the decision not to marry or have children.

Kian84’s work offers artistic interpretations of modern society and the shifting values of the younger generation, providing viewers with new ways of seeing the world.
His unique perspective and creative expression continue to inspire many, and the artwork gifted to BTS’s Jin is no exception.
