Singer B.I, formerly of the K-pop boy band iKON, has taken on a new challenge by becoming the head of his agency, 131 Label.

On Monday, 131 Label announced that B.I will continue as the label’s leading artist and guide the company’s vision and direction as a producer. He plans to lead the company’s growth by overseeing not just production but also the overall management of its artists.
B.I. shared that although he faced many real-world hardships following the release of his first solo album, WATERFALL, in 2021, he was able to come this far thanks to the support of his fans.
Reflecting on the difficult moments he experienced during his solo career, he expressed his desire to connect more deeply and for a longer time with fans through music.
Born in 1996, B.I debuted with the group iKON in 2015 and released multiple hit songs, including My Type and Rhythm Ta, earning widespread love.
However, in 2016, allegations surfaced that he had smoked marijuana and attempted to purchase LSD, leading to his departure from the group in 2019. He was later prosecuted and, in 2021, was sentenced to three years in prison with a four-year suspension. He was also ordered to complete community service and attend drug treatment lectures.
B.I now plans to overcome his past and demonstrate his musical talents with a fresh start. Under his leadership, 131 Label is expected to move more creatively and innovatively. Attention is growing over what musical achievements he will accomplish in the future.
