Rupert Grint, the beloved actor known worldwide as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, has become a father of two.
On Sunday, he announced the birth of his second daughter, Goldie, via his personal social media account. In the shared photo, Goldie is wearing a white bodysuit and a small gray cardigan.
Grint jokingly called it a “Secret Child Slightly Revealed” and expressed his joy by saying she’s a “10 out of 10 baby (so far).”Grint and his partner, actress Georgia Groome, have been together since 2011 and welcomed their first daughter, Wednesday, in 2020. He has spoken fondly of fatherhood in various interviews.
In a 2022 interview with American fashion magazine Glamour, he shared that life completely changed after becoming a father, and talked about quitting smoking and overcoming insomnia.
He also recalled bringing his first daughter to a drama set, joking that she thought she had arrived on Sesame Street.
Grint values his family’s privacy but occasionally shares cherished moments with his daughters through his social media account. However, he was involved in a tax controversy last year.
He had been billed approximately $2.3 million in taxes due to the misclassification of earnings from Harry Potter reruns and DVD sales.
The court ruled that these earnings should be considered directly related to his acting work. Fortunately, there was no evidence of intentional tax evasion; the case was a matter of differing legal interpretation.
