During her final song, “Starlight,” she drew attention by shouting, “I love you, Mom.” Jennie shared, “I tried not to cry, but I got emotional because my mom was watching.”

She continued, “I really promised myself I wouldn’t cry. But it was the last song, and when I saw my mom, the tears just came. I can’t even watch that video. I was sobbing so much.”

Explaining the lyrics she wrote, “I just want to make my mom proud,” Jennie said the words reflect her desire to live happily with her mother, even amid her glamorous life.

Yoo Jae Suk mentioned that Jennie’s mother was seen shedding tears in the audience and asked how she responded afterward. Jennie recalled, “She told me I did well and gently comforted me after the performance.”

The broadcast also showed Jennie’s mother gently covering part of Jennie’s stage outfit with a hat.

When Yoo Jae-suk asked more about her mother, Jennie laughed and said, “She told me not to talk about her on TV. She said to keep it moderate.”

“Our family has a normal relationship, but sometimes all the attention feels overwhelming,” she added.
