Brad Pitt is said to be deeply hurt by his daughter Shiloh’s choice to drop his surname.
Shiloh made headlines this past Thursday when she introduced herself as Shi Joli at a public event in Los Angeles, drawing significant attention.

This wasn’t just a spontaneous change. On her 18th birthday last May, Shiloh officially removed the previous name Pitt and legally changed her full name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. This move reportedly came as a major shock to Brad Pitt, one of Hollywood’s most respected actors.
Family Strain and a Father’s Heartache
A source close to Pitt told People magazine on Tuesday, “He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name.”
The insider added, “He knows she dropped his last name. There has never been a greater joy in his life than when she was born. He has always wanted a daughter,” revealing the emotional impact on Pitt.
The source further explained, “Losing his children is not easy for Brad. He loves and misses them deeply. It’s a very sad situation.”
Since his divorce from Angelina Jolie, Pitt’s relationship with his children has reportedly become strained. While he is currently in a happy relationship with new partner Ines de Ramon, the emotional distance from his kids continues to weigh heavily on him, the source said.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finalized their divorce late last year. Together, they share six children: Shiloh, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
