A former South Korean special forces operator and current YouTuber has officially set a new Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups completed in 24 hours after falling just short in his first attempt last year.
On June 23, Oh Yo Han shared the news in a video titled “Guinness World Records: Most Pull-Ups in 24 Hours” on his YouTube channel, Mindset_ohyohan. In the video, he revealed that he made his record-breaking attempt the previous September.

Back in March 2023, Oh Yo Han completed 8,707 pull-ups in 24 hours, seemingly enough to secure the title. However, his attempt was later invalidated when it emerged that a Japanese competitor had previously completed 8,940 pull-ups.
Reflecting on that experience, Oh Yo Han admitted, “I struggled not just because I had limited time to prepare, but because I had no real knowledge of how to approach this kind of challenge-no idea about proper nutrition, training strategy, or how to manage my physical condition.”
“I had just left the military and was working long days. I’d leave early in the morning, come home late at night, and on top of that, my wife was pregnant with our second child. Trying to train seriously while managing all that was just reckless,” he added.
Determined not to repeat the same mistakes, Oh Yo Han approached his second attempt with a singular focus. “This time, I was all in. I didn’t even allow myself to consider failure,” he said.
He ultimately completed 11,707 pull-ups, a number that holds special meaning for Oh, who served as a captain in South Korea’s elite 707th Special Mission Battalion.
“I could have done more,” he told Guinness officials, “but I stopped at 11,707 as a tribute to the 707.”
His feat easily surpassed the previous Guinness record of 10,011 pull-ups, set by an American athlete in February.
News of Oh Yo Han’s accomplishment quickly spread online, where fans and fellow service members praised his discipline and grit. Comments included, “You’re the pride of the 707,” and “Who could even come close to this?”
Oh Yo Han rose to public fame after appearing on the hit South Korean military reality series The Iron Squad 3 in 2023. He now regularly shares fitness and endurance-focused content, including running and strength training, on his YouTube channel, continuing to inspire viewers worldwide.
