BTS has officially announced its long-awaited return. All seven members, having now completed their mandatory military service, are reuniting to record a new album, set for release in spring 2026.
On Tuesday, BTS surprised fans during a Weverse Live broadcast titled “BTS Is Back.” RM revealed that the group will begin working closely together starting in July, focusing full-time on music production.
“We’ll definitely be releasing a full-group album next spring,” RM confirmed, adding that a world tour is also in the works following the album’s release.
This marks BTS’s first full-group comeback in nearly four years, following its 2022 anthology album Proof and the Yet to Come in Busan concert.

The group also revealed that they plan to record much of the new album in the United States, signaling a global focus for its next chapter.
Jimin addressed the expected delay between his military discharge and album release. “Fans might’ve hoped for something right away, but it’s just not possible to prepare for an album while serving in the military, and honestly, it wouldn’t have been right,” he said. “We’re starting from scratch now, so it’s going to take time.”
RM reassured ARMY that the band would stay in touch during the creative process: “We’ll keep connecting through Weverse Live and social media. Just give us a little time, we’ll come back with our best work, all at once.”
BTS began its military enlistments in December 2022, starting with Jin. Over the past year and a half, the other members followed. With RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook completing their service last month, all seven members are officially back, ready to begin their next era together.
