Han Hye Jin made headlines during the latest episode of My Little Old Boy, airing on SBS, by revealing her heaviest weight ever, leaving her co-stars speechless.
In the episode, comedians Shin Gi Ru and Pung Ja visited Han Hye Jin’s vacation home in Hongcheon, and the conversation quickly turned to body image and weight.
During the show, the 177 cm (5’10”) model shocked everyone when she disclosed her highest recorded weight: 59.8 kg (131.8 lbs). Her revelation had the room buzzing, as many were surprised by the number.
The topic shifted to weight loss when Pung Ja shared her own success story. “I’ve lost 17 kg (37.5 lbs) recently,” she proudly announced. Motivated by her friend’s success, Shin Gi Ru joined in, saying, “I’m thinking about dropping 7 kg (15.4 lbs) this summer. Even just that would make me look leaner and more gorgeous.”
Shin Gi Ru continued, feeling the pressure from her slimmer friends: “With both Pung Ja and Hong Yun Hwa losing weight, I feel like I should jump on the bandwagon too.”
Celebrities Open Up About Body Image Struggles
When Shin Gi Ru asked Han Hye Jin about her peak weight, the model admitted, “When I feel like I’ve reached my heaviest, I usually fast for a day or two before stepping on the scale. That’s when I saw 59.8 kg.”
Shin Gi Ru’s eyes widened in shock. “Don’t listen to that nonsense. Just eat!” she said, visibly surprised. Pung Ja jokingly added, “I’m allergic to skinny people.”
Han Hye Jin defended her weight concerns, explaining, “In this industry, if we don’t stay in shape, we don’t earn. Our appearance is our career.” But Pung Ja quickly countered with a laugh, “Well, if we get too skinny, we won’t make money either!”
The conversation turned even more candid when Shin Gi Ru revealed her own highest weight, which was an impressive 107.7 kg (237.4 lbs). “It’s not much higher than that now,” she confessed, adding some levity to the discussion.
When Han Hye Jin asked if Shin Gi Ru had kept that weight for over two decades, Shin Gi Ru responded honestly, saying, “Actually, I’ve gained even more since then.”
