BTS member J-Hope recently opened up about how IVE’s music helped him cope during his time in the military. The K-pop star shared this heartfelt insight during an appearance on the YouTube show After Inkigayo, Let’s Go to the Snack Bar.
The episode, titled “Our Snack Bar’s Global Expansion? J-Hope’s ‘Killin’ It’ Caused a Commotion from Dawn”, highlighted J-Hope’s infectious charm and candid personality, making it a hit with fans.

During the episode, J-Hope joined the hosts, IVE’s Leeseo and ZEROBASEONE’s Han Yu Jin, in sampling new snacks. His genuine reactions had viewers in stitches, showing off his fun and laid-back personality.

He added with a playful smile, “The new recruits are going to freak out. They’ll be so surprised to see IVE right next to me right now. Are you watching? This is who your brother is!” His light-hearted comment had the entire set bursting with laughter.
J-Hope also revealed that his favorite IVE track is “Off The Record,” and even recounted a specific scene from the music video that left Leeseo surprised. He candidly explained, “For soldiers, IVE is truly the queen,” highlighting how much their music had been a source of comfort during his military service.
Touched by J-Hope’s words, Leeseo made heart-shaped rice balls and sent a warm message: “Good luck with your military service!”
BTS Members’ Food Preferences Revealed
During the show, J-Hope also took the opportunity to show some appreciation to the production team by making rice balls for everyone. While preparing the snack, he shared some insights into the BTS members’ culinary preferences.
According to J-Hope, the group’s tastes in food are split between those who love Korean cuisine and those with simpler, more youthful preferences. “Jimin, Taehyung, and Namjoon are all about dishes like kimchi fried rice,” he said. “Suga and I, on the other hand, are the ones who seek out local cuisine when we travel.”

J-Hope also mentioned BTS’s Jin, saying, “Jin’s tastes are very set. He’s definitely a Korean food guy.”
The BTS star also shared his early musical influences, revealing, “When I was younger, I listened to a lot of music from my seniors, like BigBang, BoA, and TVXQ.”
