Claims have been made that a man in his 30s, who was identified as a perpetrator in the Miryang middle school girl gang rape case, has changed his name and is currently working as a foreign car salesman.

On June 3, a video revealing the recent news of a man suspected to be the perpetrator of the Miryang middle school girl gang rape case was posted on the YouTube channel Narak Bogwanso.

The YouTuber claimed to have received an anonymous tip-off containing the information of a suspect, who is believed to be the attacker in the Miryang middle school girl rape case. According to the inside source, the suspect had changed his name after the incident, along with his Instagram account.

The YouTuber explained that they had found another perpetrator assumed to be the lead attacker since he followed a suspect on Instagram. Through this, the Youtuber was able to confirm the suspect’s recent status.

Narak Bogwanso revealed everything from recent photos of the suspect, including what he currently looks like, his real name, age, and workplace.

The YouTuber reported that the suspect is currently working at a foreign car dealership in a city in Gyeongnam, owns three foreign cars, and enjoys playing golf on the weekends.

The suspect also wrote on Instagram, “Dear mother, I will make your life happy.”

The YouTuber shared that their favorite quote is from Dale Carnegie: “Be honest, look for areas where you can admit error and say so. Apologize for your mistakes.”

In the video, the YouTuber questions the suspect, “But did you apologize? Are you holding out without apologizing to the victim?”

The suspect’s Instagram account is currently deleted, but the blog run he runs has been exposed by netizens with comments of protest posted.

The foreign car dealership where the suspect works has been hit with a barrage of low ratings on its portal site review, and critical comments are blowing up on the dealership’s Instagram account.

The Miryang middle school girl rape case occurred in Miryang, Gyeongnam in 2004, where 44 male students gang-raped a female middle school student over a year.

The perpetrators were known to be high school students born in the year between 1986 and 1988. At the time, the prosecution indicted some who were directly involved in the rape, and the rest were either sent to juvenile court or have been released.

The following year, the 10 indicted were also sent to the juvenile court but were only placed on probation.

The fact that not a single one of the 44 were punished and left with no criminal record, caused a national outrage. The movie Han Gong Ju was produced based on this incident.
