Famed Doctor Michael Mosley Found Dead on Greek Island

James Yoo Views

Michael Mosley, a renowned British broadcaster and medical doctor known for his best-selling book ‘The Fast 800,’ was found dead while vacationing in Greece at the age of 67.

On June 6th (local time), British media outlets such as the Mirror reported, “Dr. Mosley has disappeared while on vacation with his wife on the Greek island of Symi.”

Dr. Mosley’s wife, Dr. Claire Bailey, reported to local emergency services that her husband vanished while taking a walk along the coast in the Saint Nicholas beach area.

Witnesses who saw Mosley walking stated, “He seemed to know exactly where he was going.”

According to reports, the last sighting of Mosley was at 1:30 PM on the 5th at Saint Nicholas Beach on Symi Island. It was reported that he left his cell phone on the beach.

Greek authorities launched a large-scale search operation, mobilizing police, firefighters, and volunteers. Police dogs and drones were also deployed in areas where it was difficult for humans to access.

With temperatures on Symi Island reaching up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and a heatwave warning in effect, there were speculations that Mosley could have been in danger if he hadn’t carried water with him.

Unfortunately, Mosley was found dead four days after he was reported missing.

Dr. Mosley is well known as a presenter on BBC‘s Trust Me, I’m a Doctor, The One Show, and ITV‘s This Morning.

In 2012, his book The Fast 800 sparked a global diet craze.
