A recent robbery at a clothing store in Brazil is gaining attention online, thanks to a remarkable mistake made by the robber, who was caught on the store’s CCTV.

According to a report by Brazilian media outlet G1 on February 12, the incident occurred the night before, on February 11, at a clothing store in Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais.

A man entered the store, armed with a handgun, and threatened employees while stealing merchandise. After committing the theft and attempting to leave the store, he made a stunning blunder.

While trying to conceal the gun in his pants, he accidentally pulled the trigger, shooting himself in the lower body.

The shot caused severe bleeding, and the man, now hemorrhaging, sought treatment at a local health center, where police later arrested him.

The CCTV footage, now spreading across social media, shows the exact moment the man accidentally pulls the trigger while tucking the gun into his pants. The bullet struck him in the groin, and he left the store clutching his leg in agony.

At the time of the incident, the man had two accomplices who fled the scene. Local police, using the CCTV footage, identified one of the suspects and arrested them while they continued to search for the second accomplice.

Meanwhile, Brazil is facing a significant rise in robbery incidents. The country’s economic downturn and high unemployment rates have contributed to an increase in crimes committed out of desperation.

The Brazilian government is taking steps to address the issue by strengthening law enforcement, but crime rates remain alarmingly high.

Experts point out that Brazil must enhance its social safety nets and expand educational opportunities to effectively reduce crime.
