A mini canvas tote bag released for the Easter season by Trader Joe’s, a grocery chain with 560 stores across the United States, has become a massive hit.
The bag is priced at $2.99, but due to overwhelming demand, listings have appeared in online resale markets for as much as $1,699 per bag.

According to reports from USA Today and Times Now on April 9, the mini canvas tote bags were launched in early April in four colors—blue, pink, purple, and green—at Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.
As a limited-time offering, the bags quickly sold out due to intense consumer interest.
Photos and videos of people lining up in front of stores to purchase the bags have gone viral on social media platforms like TikTok and X. In some locations, the bags sold out within hours of going on sale.
Riding this wave of popularity, the tote bags are now being resold online at premium prices.
Four-piece sets are being sold for anywhere from $200 to $500, and individual bags have been listed for up to $280.
One resale listing showed the pink version priced at an astonishing $1,699, the purple at $1,600, the blue at $1,400, and the green at $1,100.
Trader Joe’s responded that these resale activities are outside its quality-focused supply chain without approval. The company emphasized that it does not condone or support the resale of its products and is making every effort to In it.
Last year, Trader Joe’s mini tote bags were also extremely popular, so store employees had to limit the number of bags each customer could purchase. A similar situation is playing out this year, drawing intense interest once again from consumers.
