G-Dragon made an unforgettable comeback to the year-end stage, headlining the grand finale of the 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon.

Held on Wednesday at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, the annual year-end event reached its peak with an electrifying performance by G-Dragon, who closed out the show with his signature flair. This marked the BIGBANG leader’s first appearance on a year-end music show in eight years, making it an incredibly significant moment for both him and his fans.

Introduced as the “irreplaceable living legend,” G-Dragon took center stage to perform “Power,” his high-energy track released in October. Sporting a bold red suit, the K-pop superstar effortlessly showcased his trademark avant-garde fashion sense, radiating confidence and charisma.

After finishing “Power,” G-Dragon took fans on a nostalgic trip down memory lane with a nostalgic medley of his iconic hits, “Crooked” and “Sober.” Transitioning into a rock-chic look with a leather jacket, he gripped a standing microphone and commanded the stage, his intense stage presence electrifying the crowd. With every move, he captivated the audience, reminding them why he’s considered one of the most influential figures in K-pop.

The crowd went wild, singing along and cheering loudly as G-Dragon and his backup dancers delivered a dramatic, high-energy finale. As “Crooked” came to an end, the group collapsed onto the stage in a theatrical moment, showcasing the full extent of G-Dragon’s showmanship.

After the performance, G-Dragon stayed lying on the stage for a few moments, playfully refusing to get up even when his backup dancers signaled him to rise. His lighthearted exhaustion sparked laughter and applause from the audience, who loved his spontaneous, fun-loving energy.

The evening also saw G-Dragon crowned Favorite Artist of the Year at the SBS Gayo Daejeon, a testament to his lasting popularity in the K-pop scene. In his closing remarks, he humbly shared, “I thought I was the old idol, but it turns out I’m the favorite idol. I still love being called an idol. Thank you.”
