At 79, Trump Passes Medical Exam with Flying Colors—Here’s What It Reveals

James Yoo Views

U.S. President Donald Trump, who took office as the oldest president in U.S. history, has had his health status officially released by the White House.

At 79 years old, Trump had previously not disclosed specific information about his health, but for the first time, he has now released the results of a full medical examination.

On Sunday, the White House issued a report by White House physician U.S. Navy Captain Sean Barbella, stating that the president is in excellent health.

According to the report, Trump is in an outstanding cognitive and physical condition, with no issues affecting his ability to serve as president.

He is 6 feet 3 inches (191 cm) tall and weighs 224 lbs. (102 kg). His blood pressure reading is 128/74 mmHg, which is within the normal range. Other key health indicators, such as cholesterol and liver function, were also within normal limits.

Trump underwent this check-up last Friday, marking his first health screening since returning to office. The exam is part of the annual medical evaluations traditionally conducted for U.S. presidents and serves as a key means of informing the public about the president’s health status.

Particular attention has been paid to Trump’s condition given the precedent of former President Joe Biden, who stepped down from the race due to concerns over his health.

This announcement has drawn greater attention since Trump has rarely released detailed health information. Aside from limited disclosures following last year’s assassination attempt, there has been little public knowledge of his recent health.

Trump has long been known for his preference for fast food and soft drinks, such as hamburgers, which has earned him criticism over the years.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, stated during the presidential campaign that Trump relied on foods “no different from poison.”

However, Dr. Barbella credited Trump’s active lifestyle as a major contributor to his overall health. He noted that Trump regularly attends meetings, participates in public events, engages with the media, and plays golf—all of which positively influence his well-being.

The release of this health report is expected to have a favorable impact on Trump’s political prospects. Demonstrating excellent health despite his age may help build trust among voters.
