A woman is second-guessing her decision to marry her boyfriend after he presented a list of shocking conditions she’d have to adhere to once they’re married.
On Monday, a post titled “My boyfriend wants me to maintain a weight of 55kg (approximately 121 lbs) after marriage” went viral on the popular South Korean online community, Nate Pann.
The author began by saying, “I have a boyfriend, and we’ve been talking about marriage. He’s good-looking, successful, and comes from a respectable family.” However, she quickly revealed the issue: “The problem is the conditions he insists I follow after we get married.”
The Four Outrageous Demands Her Boyfriend Made
According to the author, her boyfriend’s list of demands includes always being fully made up and dressed up at home (as if she’s about to go out), never letting him see her in a messy state, preparing breakfast every day, and—wait for it—maintaining a weight of 55 kg through consistent effort.
She was especially shocked by the weight requirement. “I’m stunned by how specific he is about the number,” she admitted. “He insists I stay at 121 lbs, claiming it’s the perfect weight for my 170 cm (about 5’6″) frame.”
She said, “He says he’ll also focus on his fitness and that these are the only things he expects from me. He’s promised to give me a generous allowance, even extra pocket money. He says I can quit my job if I want, and that he’ll hire someone to handle the housework. He insists I should just focus on my hobbies. It’s completely ridiculous!”
When she asked him whether he would divorce her if she gained weight after having children, he responded, “That’s fine, but you’ll need to get back to your original figure as soon as possible.” His obsession with controlling her appearance has she seriously reconsidering their future together.
Social media users quickly reacted, with comments like: “The full-glam look at home is even worse than the weight issue,” “He might as well just date a mannequin,” “Living with someone like that would ruin your mental health,” “If you can’t relax at home, where can you?” and “He should just stay single. Living with him sounds exhausting.”
