Michael Madsen, the actor celebrated for his intense and unforgettable performances in Quentin Tarantino’s cult classics Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs, has passed away at the age of 67.

According to AP and CNN, Madsen was found unconscious at his Malibu home on Thursday morning. Despite the quick response from police and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have ruled out foul play, and Madsen’s manager confirmed that the apparent cause of death was a heart attack.

Michael launched his acting career in the early 1980s and built an impressive resume with over 300 film and television credits. Known for his work in independent films and low-budget projects, he carved out a distinct place in Hollywood, frequently collaborating with director Quentin Tarantino.

One of his most iconic roles was as the ruthless yet charismatic Mr. Blonde in Tarantino’s 1992 cult classic Reservoir Dogs, delivering a performance that remains etched in cinema history.

He also made a lasting impact as Budd in Tarantino’s Kill Bill series (2003-2004), playing one of the key antagonists in Uma Thurman’s revenge saga.

Other notable films in Michael’s career include Thelma & Louise (1991), Donnie Brasco (1997), Die Another Day (2002), Sin City (2005), The Hateful Eight (2015), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019).

In a 2008 interview, Michael said, “You’ll make a great film when you least expect it, or don’t really anticipate it … I don’t have a crystal ball or time machine, I can’t know what’s going to happen. I just want longevity.”

He remained active in his craft until recently. His manager shared that several feature films starring Madsen are slated for release soon.

Despite his professional success, Michael faced personal challenges, including two arrests related to drunk driving, a turbulent marriage with his ex-wife, and the heartbreaking suicide of his son.
