The long-rumored hearing aid feature for AirPods Pro 2 has finally been released.
On Tuesday, Apple officially launched iOS 18.1, incorporating features from the AI system Apple Intelligence.
This software update brings three new features to the AirPods Pro 2.
These features are the Hearing Test, Hearing Aid, and Hearing Protection.
The Hearing Test feature allows users to check their hearing results from home conveniently, but it is only available for individuals aged 18 and older.
The Hearing Aid feature offers personalized, clinical-grade support that automatically adjusts to ambient sounds, music, videos, and phone calls.
This feature targets users aged 18 and over who experience mild to moderate hearing loss.
Finally, the Hearing Protection feature helps reduce users’ exposure to loud environmental noise while in listening mode.
These Hearing Health Functions are exclusive to the AirPods Pro 2 and unavailable on other AirPods models.
Apple’s official website currently lists the countries where these Hearing Health Functions are supported.
However, South Korea is not included among the supported countries for Hearing Tests, Hearing Aids, or Hearing Protection functions.
Notably, although the Hearing Aid feature is available in 110 countries, South Korea is excluded, likely due to certification issues.
News that all three new features for AirPods Pro 2 are unavailable in South Korea has disappointed domestic consumers.
