The United States Secret Service (SS) neutralized an armed man near the White House in Washington, D.C.

According to CNN, on Sunday, around midnight, an armed adult male was shot by a Secret Service agent near the White House and was transported to a hospital. His current condition has not been disclosed.

Neither President Donald Trump, who was not at the White House then, nor any Secret Service personnel were injured.

Trump had left the White House on March 7 in the afternoon, two days before the incident, and was staying at his private residence in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Secret Service had received a report from U.S. law enforcement agencies that an armed man, showing signs of suicidal intent, was traveling from Indiana to Washington, D.C. A search operation was launched.

Shortly after, the Secret Service located the suspect and his vehicle near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, west of the White House.

Upon being discovered, the suspect pulled out a firearm, leading to an armed standoff.

As Secret Service agents approached, the suspect brandished his weapon, escalating the confrontation. At that moment, the agents fired their guns, the Secret Service stated.

Trump Has Survived Two Assassination Attempts

Trump has previously survived two assassination attempts, further rallying his supporters.

In July 2024, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a bullet grazed his right ear.

At that moment, he raised his fist toward the evacuating crowd, solidifying support among his base, especially as former President Joe Biden, then a presidential candidate, faced concerns about cognitive decline.

Two months later, in September, an armed man was caught lying in wait at Trump’s private golf course, allegedly planning an attack on the president while he was playing golf.
