James Yoo Views

Amid a growing trend of attacks targeting Tesla vehicles across the U.S., a 36-year-old Korean-American man was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly setting fire to several cars at a Tesla collision repair center.

Local police reported on Thursday that they had apprehended Kim, who stands accused of setting fire to at least five vehicles at the Tesla repair center in Las Vegas. Kim faces multiple charges, including property destruction, arson, and possession of Molotov cocktails.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has stated that federal charges will also be filed against Kim regarding the incident.

According to police reports, Kim arrived at the scene in a passenger vehicle on the day of the crime before heading to the repair center. He was reportedly wearing dark clothing, gloves, and a face covering. Investigators believe he used a firearm to disable surveillance cameras on the premises.

The suspect allegedly used Molotov cocktails to set the vehicles ablaze, and an undetonated incendiary device was found in one of the targeted cars. Additionally, Kim is said to have spray-painted the word “Resist” on the center’s main entrance.

Forensic evidence collected at the scene matched Kim’s DNA. Authorities later executed search warrants on two vehicles connected to Kim and his apartment, where they found several firearms, gun parts, and ammunition.

Investigators are now looking into Kim’s social media activity, which suggests possible affiliations with communist organizations and pro-Palestinian groups. They are also exploring whether any accomplices were involved in the attack.
